Ballot Measure 20-137

Local option levy renewal for 4J schools

Ballot Measure 20-137 is a property tax to fund 4J school operations. The current levy, which expires 2010, was approved by voters in 2000 and renewed in 2004. The ballot measure would renew the levy for another five years at the same tax rate. If approved, the levy would generate $15 to $17 million per year.

Bond Measure 20-138

Willamalane Park and Rec District after-school programs

Local Bond Measure 20-138, for Springfield, would enable Willamalane Park and Recreation District to expand its after-school program. If passed, the levy would sustain and expand after-school programs and summer youth activity programs. Additional funding would come in the form of levying 32.

Suislaw School District 97J, five-year option levy

Ballot measure 20-139 is a five-year local tax option levy for Siuslaw school operations. The question is whether or not School District 97J should impose a 95-cent tax per $1,000 of assessed property values to support operations for five years beginning in 2009.

Ballot Measure 20-140

$1.1 million to pay for a new swimming pool in Veneta

If bond measure 20-140 passes, a new swimming pool in Veneta will cost taxpayers $1.1 million over a 20-year period. The City of Veneta plans to build a new six-lane 25-yard outdoor pool to replace the old one. Plans also include a shallow wading pool, a therapeutic spa and dressing and shower rooms.

Ballot Measure 20-141

Authorization of a gas tax on motor vehicle fuel

The City of Creswell has proposed an ordinance that would impose a tax on motor vehicle fuel dealers of 3 cents per gallon. The ordinance provides administration and enforcement collection of the tax. The total net revenue from the tax would be used for construction, reconstruction, repair, maintenance, and operation of the public highways, roads, and streets within the city limits of Creswell.

County measure for college infrastructure

Lane County Bond Measure 20-142 could give LCC a financial boost. If passed, the measure would provide $83 million for renovating outdated infrastructure and instructional technology. Some of the changes to be addressed by the bond would be boiler and roof replacements, new management systems to increase energy efficiency, technology updates and improvements to increase accessibility for disabled students, employees and faculty.

Ballot measure 20-143

Funding for Santa Clara Rural Fire Protection District

The Santa Clara Rural Fire Protection District wants voters to approve a tax of 60 cents per $1,000 of assessed land value in Lane County. The five-year local option tax would be used for operations and capital improvements of Santa Clara RFPD beginning fiscal year 2009-10.

Ballot Measure 20-144

South Lane County Fire and Rescue funds

Ballot Measure 20-144 is a proposed five-year local option tax levy that would benefit South Lane County Fire and Rescue by providing funds for staffing and operations. If approved, it would add 75 cents per $1,000 of assessed land value for five years beginning in 2009.

Bond Measure 20-145

$35.9 million in general obligation bonds to fix roads, bike paths

Bond Measure 20-145 would generate a total of $35.9 million to finance the restoration of Eugene streets. The bonds will mature over a five-year period, generating $6.5 million, plus inflation, annually. The funds would pay for the repair of 32 streets in Eugene, totaling 70 miles.

Ballot Measure 20-146

Independent police auditor and review board for complaints

Ballot Measure 20-146 involves making specific edits to the language in the Eugene's charter, section 15-A, which deals with the external examination of complaints against police employees. The proposal would replace the words "is authorized to" and "may" with "shall.

Bond Measure 20-147

Crow-Applegate-Lorane School District 66

Measure 20-147 will determine if the Crow-Applegate-Lorane School District No. 66 will continue to tax $1.50 per $1,000 assessed for general operations beginning in 2010-11. If the measure is approved, it would allow School District No. 66 to maintain current programs and staffing levels at the three schools.

Funding for Marcola School District

Lane and Linn County voters have been asked by Marcola School District to approve granting the district funds in the form of general obligation bonds not exceeding $6.4 million. The measure asks the city to sell $6.4 million in bonds. Residents would pay an additional $2.

Funding for the Fern Ridge Library

The Fern Ridge Library District will present Measure 20-149 on the November ballot that would determine the fate of library services. Measure 20-149 proposes that the district would continue to levy 25 cents per $1,000 assessed value for operational purposes for the next five years beginning July 1, 2009.
